Whomobile – The man behind Doctor Who’s car
My Dad took me to a garage showroom to see the original Whomobile. I remember it having a silver, sparkly metallic paint which was glossy and smooth to the touch. It didn’t have a canopy roof, but inside, it had a small TV screen in the centre console.
My Dad met Jon Pertwee at a conference he was attending in Bournemouth, back in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s. (Looking at the vehicles in the photo now, it actually looks more like a classic car rally.)
